Obituary for Walter Robert Turton

Turton, Walter Robert...Served his country during WWII providing 33 years of dedicated service in the Canadian Armed Forces where he retired with the rank of Chief Warrant Officer. He passed away peacefully with family at his bedside at Seasons Dufferin Centre on Saturday July 19th, 2014 in his 98th year. He was the beloved husband for 68 years to his wife, Jean Margaret (nee Blundell), who predeceased him. Loving father to Ronald & his wife Nancy of Whitby, David & his wife Susan of Kitchener, Lesley Lywood & her husband Michael of St. Catharines, Richard & his wife Heather of Naperville IL, and Michael & his wife Cynthia of Maitland. He was a dear grandfather of 13 grandchildren & 5 great grandchildren. Survived by his brother Frank Turton & his wife Rose and predeceased by his brother Harold Turton. Walter was deeply involved in community services through the Masonic order and Shriners for over 70 years and served as a lay reader for more than 30 years at St. George's Anglican Church in Trenton. Walter found personal happiness and joy through his love of family and his faith in Christ, he will be deeply missed by those he leaves behind. The family will receive friends at the Weaver Family Funeral Home - West Chapel, 170 Dundas Street, Trenton on Wednesday July 23, 2014 from 1:00 to 2:00 pm, with a Masonic Lodge Service at 2:00 PM, followed by the funeral service. Rev. Steve Timpson officiating. There will be light refreshments afterwards. If desired, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
