Condolence From: Kenneth Runciman
Condolence: Loss of a family member is never easy. The grieving process takes time to come to a place of grace and acceptance especially when the life review of that person elicits many different emotions. I am the step-son of Trudie Runciman. My father was Allan Runciman, Trudie’s husband of over a quarter century. I learned of the passing of my step-mother quite by accident. I have not had contact with Trudie since the burial of my father in 2009 and her subsequent arrest for her criminal role in his death. In eulogizing the deceased we reflect upon the life and actions of that person; their impact upon the world and the legacy they leave behind. The way that a person cares for and interacts with others helps to define the essence of their soul. And it is the soul that leaves this plane and moves on. That journey can be difficult, dark and uncertain as can managing the associated grief. It is my hope that the family of Gertrud rely on each other’s strength and support to navigate the course of mourning. Be there for each other and care for each other. It is your journey now…..
