Thank you, Jean, for making me feel so welcomed into the Twigg family when I married Peter Twigg. While busy supporting Bruce in running that big farm and in taking such care of those two fine sons, Ron and Jim, you still were able to make Peter and me feel so welcome when we would come down for a visit.
The summer that our son, Chris, was working on the farm, we came down for a visit and camped in a campground on the river. It was the end of a school year when I had a class of 43 students as well as having a husband and three children of my own to care for and I was exhausted - I mean really, really exhausted. You came to visit us at the campsite and arrived with a great big raisin pie still warm and just out of the oven. It was incredibly good and such a treat. It is not the only raisin pie of yours that I have tasted over the years and I must say, to this day, you made the best raisin pies in the whole wide world. And you taught me how to make those poached apples - much faster than baking them and ever so good.
I am so glad we met and I had a chance to see a real farm wife in action. That is a job I think takes a very special talent. I know I speak for all of Peter's family when I say we will miss you very much. You were an integral part of our connection to our Campbellford relatives.
